What Is Confidence Rating?

Confidence Rating is a single, dynamic score that tells you how likely it is you'll be able to use a shot in your project. In order to use a shot, you need permission from the person who owns the shot and any people and property shown in the shot.

It’s designed to help you get out of the “should we even try?” limbo and clearer on what’s worth betting on creatively.

We built Confidence Rating to encourage teams to review before they commit. Because here’s the secret: Just by engaging with content in-platform, you're increasing your odds of success.

The more you interact with shots, the more data we gather and the more accurately we can "prime" content for clearance.

Dynamic = Drama-Free

Unlike static estimates, the Confidence Rating evolves as your project progresses. We’re pulling from real-time data and inputs across the entire project journey:

• When a shot is added, we analyze the source URL for an initial read
• As we learn more about the shot the rating gets stronger (or weaker) and our ML model uses learnings to update the score automatically based on insights from other shots
• Once we’re in the process of securing the rights on the shot, a specialist can further adjust the rating based on real-world nuance

It’s like a mood ring but for licensing. And yes, it changes colors (well, emojis) as things shift.
